Connect your photo AI (Higgsfield or OpenAI)

Mungo makes new product and lifestyle photos with your own photo AI account. You connect it once with an API key: a kind of password that lets Mungo use your account. Every photo is paid from your balance at that service (usually a few cents per photo) and costs no Mungo credits.

Good to know: the API balance is separate from a normal subscription. If you already pay for Higgsfield or ChatGPT Plus, those credits can't be used here. You add a small amount (for example $5 or $10) to the API balance and pay per photo.

You only need one. Not sure? Pick Higgsfield: it's made for product and fashion photos.

Option A: Higgsfield

1. Go to cloud.higgsfield.ai and create an account (or log in).
2. Open Billing and add credit (minimum $5).
3. Open API Keys and click Create key.
4. You now see a Key ID and a Key secret. Copy both right away: the secret is shown only once.
5. In Mungo, go to Connections → Higgsfield → Connect, paste both and click Connect.

Option B: OpenAI (ChatGPT's photo AI)

1. Go to platform.openai.com and log in (your ChatGPT login works).
2. Open Settings → Billing and add credit (minimum $5).
3. Open API keys and click Create new secret key. Give it a name like "Mungo".
4. Copy the key (it starts with sk-). It's shown only once.
5. In Mungo, go to Connections → OpenAI → Connect, paste the key and click Connect.

Mungo checks the key right away. When you see Connected, new listings get photos automatically.

How many photos?

By default Mungo makes 4 photos per listing: 2 product photos with your background and 2 lifestyle photos with your persona. You can change the number for each listing, add more later, or leave photos out.

Something not working?

• "This key doesn't work": copy the whole key again; for Higgsfield both the Key ID and the secret are needed.
• "Your balance at the photo AI is empty": add credit in the Billing page of Higgsfield or OpenAI, then click Try again on the photo.
• No photo AI connected? Mungo still writes the text and sets the price; you can add your own photos in Shopify.
• Keep your API key private. Mungo stores it encrypted and only shows the last 4 characters.
